The Clip

Here is my final clip for Project Two, but it is better if you view it on Vimeo here.

'It still starts in your mind'

Design idea

My personal stance on design is that no matter how far technology advances and how many different programs are released (although they do make life easier for a designer) the first step of design, a brainstorm or an idea/concept, still comes from a person's mind. Technology doesn't generate ideas but assists designers along the way.

Quotes

"I would say my biggest pet peeve related to the industry would be people focusing on technology instead of design, standards instead of users, and validation rather than innovation. Web standards and best practices are noble goals, but all too often in our community people forget they are a means to an end, not the end itself." - Jeff Croft

"Design in art, is a recognition of the relation between various things, various elements in the creative flux. You can’t invent a design. You recognize it, in the fourth dimension. That is, with your blood and your bones, as well as with your eyes." - D. H. Lawrence

"It is far better to adapt the technology to the user than to force the user to adapt to the technology." - Larry Marine

"You can’t do better design with a computer, but you can speed up your work enormously." - Wim Crouwel

Technology over technique produces emotionless design. - Daniel Mall

Stop Motion - First attempt and Storyboard

This here is my first attempt at stop motion. Although not 2 seconds (please find the Vimeo link below) I thought this one was pretty simple yet effective.

Two second clip:

For some reason Blogger is not allowing me to upload this clip. But you can view it on Vimeohere instead!

Note: Clips were uploaded six days late but I had received an extension.

Just some things...

Here are a few examples of why I like media design:

This sketch was done in Processing via Mitchell Whitelaw's upload, a remake of Mr Doob's 'Harmony'. See it here. Below is the code used to create the above image.

I find it quite amazing that a piece of code can create different images.
More Processing sketches follow.

This guy here is part of a collaboration called 'Processing Monsters'. This project is interactive and quite cool. View them all here.

The above images are parts of three posters, a collaboration effort between Krzysztof Domaradzki & Piotr Buczkowski inspired by 'The Voice of Energy'. They can be found, along with lots of other great stuff, here.

Photography, animation, film, social media, music production, and the future of technology are all other examples of why I am interested in media design. The experience, interaction and/or reaction that people receive from design motivate me to generate more ideas.
